Introduction of Public Health and Health Promotion

Unit name : The introduction of public health and health promotion

In week 1st the unit of HSH111, the class started with the first activity which is the introduction between students to know about each other well. I was very excited to know about the different people because to learn new things and also improving the understanding of power with whom I will be studying. In this activity the students are divided into a group in each group there are 4 or 5 students and each member of the group described something with the other member in different ways. In this week 1 we discussed the public health and its development and passing time was in this week it was understood that the idea of public health is widespread. I learned public health defined as the health is a positive concept which means a complete state of physically, mentally and socially wellbeing irrespective of gender, wealth and political views etc.

In week 2nd, the lecturer was focused to discuss the different learning definitions of health and many different definitions also provided by the students also. Most important terms we learn in this week like health, health promotion and its frameworks include Ottawa charter, the mandala of health etc.

Week 3rd & 4th Reflection

Week 3rd I leaned two terms that are important that is health inequity and health inequalities. Health inequity means the capacity of individual is different but resources distribution according to their needs. E.g.Social justice. Social justice is the respect and fair relation between individual and society moreover, every person have its own rights no matter gender, sex, money etc.. the third terms is social determinants it is defined as all the resources included education, employment, housing and money etc. today I really surprised to know about that Australia population suffering from obesity most because of lack of nutritional food. But in India population suffering  from below poverty because of culture the people who rich they will be more rich.

Week 4th I learned many things I learned the definitions of asylum seekers, refugee, stenotype, racism and human rights. Today most important definition I learn the asylum seekers state that the person who left their own country due to political refugee and seeking asylum in other country. Asylum was decreased little bit in Australia according to study. You now I was like ohhhhh to know about broken window theory. It also increased the terrorism and lives on street.  

Week 5th & 6th Reflection

Week 5 gives a modification of the learning made by me in the previous weeks. In this week, an examination on the Public Health and Health Promotion was made. A video of "Tessa Hill forest" was played by the instructor in the class which featured that there are distinctive factors because of which open wellbeing is influenced.
