Introduction
Computer games have become popular over ages starting from the computer game crash in the year 1983 to the origin of neighbourhood coder. The computer games might not be much popular in the 1990s but started to have a great resurgence in the 2000s. This was a result of the digital distribution. The advertising industry has played a great role in the resurgence of computer gaming post the video game crash in the year 1983. During the year 1983, there was a great recession in the gaming industry. The crash resulted due to several attributes which included saturation of the market. The crash resulted for around two long years. The crash was a huge event which is considered as the end of the second generation of console video gaming. Since then there is no turning back. (Gee, 2016).

Digital distribution and the advertising industry have taken the gaming to a whole new level. The market saturation which was down during the second generation of the console video gaming found a new way of resurrection through advertising. The software developed through ages and the gaming experience scaled new heights. The era of bedroom coders arose and there were concepts that were way beyond human thoughts. This was brought to the gamers i.e. to the public through advertising. The advertising industry had its share bit of advancements. The advertising started from posters to video visuals capturing gamers through there extravagant approach. The technology has also played its own share. It has come a long way wherein the late 1980s the gamers opted for cartridges have now moved towards virtual reality. (Lutnicket.al, 2017).
Potential impacts
Gaming has proved to be a great source of income for the advertising industry. The kind of impact gaming has created among the present generation is that it can be taken as a profession. The gaming technology can bring about the following potential impacts to the advertising industry.
- In-game advertising
The marketing sales of the advertising industry can be enhanced through in-game advertising which enables advertising of products within a game.Since games influence children this might bring about a lot of products that are meant to capture the younger crowd. The products may be advertised to the gamers and they will be able to make choices about the product sparing their time to search for those products. Theatres used this technology where ads would pop up advertising the product during an interval. Similarly the same could be applied in games where ads could pop up that can influence a customer to purchase a product(Gee, 2016).

Video gaming streaming services is another method that can influence a customer to purchase a product. This involves popping of video clip that advertises the product in the most attractive manner thereby influencing the viewers to buy the product. With the growth of technology it has become surreal for people to make communication-related to gaming. Publicizing these methods through well-known models can enhance or create a huge impact in influencing the people. Finally, the console on which the game is played. It would be irrelevant to advertise a PS4 user to play on a Nintendo console. (De Mooij,2018).

People are able to communicate their views within a game. The mostpopular game FIFA which has taken the gaming world by storm is one such suitable example. Advertising is carried out through planks available in the game hoardings andthe game is available for all consoles. The game has influenced people of all ages. The graphics and network facility has clearly amused people. This game does not require much but toonly have a LAN connection and a console. Henceforth advertising industry makes a good sum as a result of this trend.

Football Boots, Kits etc. have been the main source of attraction influencing the gamers to purchase the product.

Description:
In this report, the potential impact of the gaming technology on the advertisement industry was discussed. A general introduction was given about both the technology and the Industry was given at first. Then three ways by which the technology may impact the Industry was given, in which the points such as, the ways by which the advertisement may be given in-game itself, how a company may sell their product by advertising while game is being streamed live, how to create a new product and sell it as In-game purchase material, etc. are discussed briefly.
One of the possible impacts which are discussed in the previous chapter will be selected and it is evaluated for the possibility of its occurrence with the help of Lawrence Lessig's regulations. Finally, one of the processes in the Industry, which may be affected due to the gaming technology will be selected and the Events, Activities or Tasks, Decision, Points, Actors, and Outcomes related to the change in that process are explained.
